Whilst surgery is the title of an orthopaedic surgeon, the prospect of developing an understanding with the patient that surgery is but a part of the management of Orthopaedic care. Conservative treatment is usually what helps most people get over their problems. Sometimes limited surgery is but a stepping stone towards a successful conservative management. Rehabilitation, pain control and function is essential. Upon a substandard response to treatment, surgery may need to step in.
